About Us

Miller Audio Research was founded by Paul Miller in response to demand from the hi-fi industry for access to his proprietary test and measurement solutions enjoyed by the specialist audio press.

Our first test solution, the Jitter Measurement Suite (JMS), provided a unique insight into the impact of jitter on the performance of digital audio products. This solution embodied a number of software innovations, not least our proprietary Interpretive Spectrum Analysis (ISA) which identifies and describes a variety of phenomena from a single, high resolution spectrum. From this, the subjective impact of jitter in all its forms could be catalogued, assisting both design engineers and magazine reviewers alike! To date, over 900 different CD/SACD and DVD/DVD-A players have been characterised by the JMS and the data archived in our laboratory.

Paul Miller was awarded the prestigious "European Test Innovator of the Year" following the release of this solution.

Nearly a decade later and the goal of providing a truly inclusive functional test system for all audio and AV products is realised in the new, Multichannel QC Suite - our one-stop solution for high-speed, precision testing without the need for any programming, script writing or a trawl through some 6" of manuals...
